Japanese architect Junya Ishigami has designed this year's Serpentine Pavilion, a craggy structure he describes as a "hill made out of rocks". The latest Serpentine Pavilion, located on the lawn outside the Serpentine Gallery in London's Kensington Gardens, comprises a rugged, rocky canopy made out of 61 tonnes of Cumbrian slate. Apre a Gibellina (TP) il Museo del Grande Cretto, istituzione dedicata all’omonima opera di Land Art realizzata da Alberto Burri (Città di Castello, 1915 – 1995). L’artista nel 1981 ricoprì la cittadina siciliana con una colata di cemento bianco, in ricordo del violento terremoto che nel 1968 colpì Gibellina, radendola al suolo.

Il nuovo museo, che custodisce al suo interno testimonianze che raccontano la storia del Grande Cretto, è stato inaugurato lo scorso 24 maggio all’interno dell’ex Chiesa di Santa Caterina, edificio rimasto indenne dal terremoto. Partendo dall’opera Grande Cretto di Gibellina, l'esposizione ripercorre la ricerca dell'artista Alberto Burri con una selezione di lavori esemplari, letti in relazione alla "poetica della ferita".
